Sweet Madness Cake Designs is a creative cake studio based in Croydon  (Melbourne, Victoria), specializing in modern layer cakes, small desserts, novelty and sculpted cakes. Focused on excellent customer service, flavour, design and high standard results.

WHERE THE STORY BEGAN

Founded in 2012 by Sonia Q.

A passionate and self taught baker, cake artist and food stylist.

I was born and raised in Australia until my early teenage years when my family moved to Spain.

I am a mother of one. I have a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and my work background is in Human Resources Management. However, it is here with Europe at my door step, that I experienced a wealth of culinary Art and knowledge through my work, travels and food experiences. This inspired me in such a way that when I returned to Melbourne, I decided to fully embrace and express my passion for baking and creating delectable and  artistic works of edible art.

I am looking forward to sharing with you an incredible cake experience through my creative cake studio – Sweet Madness Cake Designs.

We are one of the few extremely versatile cake artists in Melbourne.  Proudly offering exquisite modern buttercream layer cakes, naked cakes, drip, fondant and stunning floral styled cakes. As well as impressive novelty and elaborate sculpted cakes.

Contemporary petite cupcakes, eclairs, profiteroles, macarons, cookies, cake pops & dessert cups.

ORDERS & ENQUIRIES

The order & enquiry process is quite simple and free-flowing:

1.- Get in touch with your cake/ dessert catering requirements

2.- Tell us the day of your event and the number of serves you require or your estimated number of guests

3.- Please let us know what your budget is if you have one. There is no trick to this question. This avoids being offered products and services which may seem overwhelming if you are only after something very simple.

Your budget does not determine our pricing but merely narrows things down a little bit. Just so we can offer the right products and services for your particular requirements.

4.- If you know what you want, it is always a good idea to supply a brief description or any pictures which may help describe your style preferences. This will speed up the quoting process.

WEDDING CAKE CONSULTATIONS

The cake production studio is not open to the public.

We have found over the years that most of the initial and further consultation can be successfully done by phone  or email.

For more complex order and designs, we offer in person consultations. We usually meet our lovely customers at a local boutique cafe, where we can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while we chat about the finer details of your cake requirements and your special day.

We offer a cake tasting box which we highly recommend. Because it is extremely important to us that your cake is as gorgeous on the inside as it is on the outside.

METHOD

Every product is home made using artisan methods, just for you with love and special attention to detail and taste.

Our cakes and other delightful desserts are made fresh from scratch, using only quality products and the finest, freshest natural ingredients.

Commercial pre-made mixes are not used and you will notice this in the refined taste and texture of our products.

Our silky smooth fillings and toppings are a selection of indulgent Cacao Barry or Callebaut Belgian chocolate and Italian meringue style buttercream.

Vegan, reduced sugar, paleo and gluten free options are available upon request.
